Tribute to Prince - Purple Rain on Chapman Stick and drums

Yesterday we lost an icon in the music world and I found myself jamming along to purple rain and we ended up deciding to put together a quick (and messy) tribute to Prince and his musical influence, not to mention his incredible guitar playing. Brad Ranola and I recorded this in our own locations and put this video together.

Chapman Stick SG12 jamming with software synth

My midi setup has come a long way from the days of chapman Stick Grid and Roland's GI-10. The best pitch to midi converter I owned was the Axon AX-50, but when the company went down and stopped supporting the software, it become increasingly difficult to use.

These days, my setup is a combination of Roland's V guitar processors and various soft synths on apple's MainStage. Plus, the addition of Jam Origin's guitar midi app has been a powerful tool.

Here's a little video of me jamming on a trance tune using this setup.

Sonic Lights

Excited about a new hybrid project we'll soon be releasing called "Sonic Lights". Here's a little teaser recording on the SG12 Stick guitar.

Recorded on Logic Pro X using a Roland VG-99, Roland VB-99, and Boss SY-300 and playing on the SG12 Chapman Stick guitar. Filmed on the panasonic GH4 using a lumix pancake lens and Leica R-50 lens (my all-time favorite!). Edited in Final Cut X using Koji color profile for GH series.
